Ensuring Tree Stand Safety in Hunting.jpg

Our goal is to provide the most comprehensive information about hunting, fishing, and sports to our readers. Here you will find first-hand knowledge of the who, what, where, when, and why of the sports and outdoor world. My passion is teaching. It’s my objective to teach anyone interested based on my own experiences. Not everything I share is will be the only way to accomplish your goal, but it’s 100% honest, and its the best way it’s worked for me.

Just to give you some background, I have played sports all my life. I started at 5 years old playing football and baseball. I fell in love with the outdoors around the same age. Football was always my favorite. I remember telling my daddy (I’m from the south, so I use daddy and mama when referring to my parents) when I was very young, that the reason I liked football better was that I could hit someone with everything I had and it was acceptable to everyone involved. I wasn’t a violent kid, but I was aggressive. I was always a big child, 99.9% of the time I was the biggest on the field. Soon I began to see that finding equipment such as cleats, pants, and jerseys were not easy to find for a child of 7 that was 5’8″ 150lbs. That has been the continuing trend to this day. Now, I and 42 years old 6’3″ 280lbs. So things are still hard to find such as deer stands, camo clothing, and footwear. My focus will be on helping people with the same frustrations as I have when it comes to finding comfortable gear to participate in the hobbies they enjoy.

I began hunting with my Papa. I stayed with him and my Nana during the day while my parents were at work. During which we would hunt rabbits, squirrels, deer, dove, and coons. If we weren’t hunting we were fishing. We mostly fished for crappie, bream, and catfish. This is where my passion for the outdoors began. Once again finding the necessary gear was difficult. I was using camo from the adult section in stores, which would somewhat fit, but usually, the sleeves and pant legs were too long. Which left my mama to hem them to fit me. This was ok until I became an adult. Not every company makes big and tall camouflaged clothes or for wide footwear.

I knew I couldn’t be the only one with this problem, so I wanted to help everyone I could with finding the products to make their hobbies more enjoyable. As I said, teaching is something I enjoy doing so I will be sharing the techniques and knowledge that I’ve learned over my 35-plus years in the sports and outdoors world. My goal is the be the most informative and helpful source in the world on the subjects of sports, hunting, and fishing. I don’t claim to know it all, because I don’t, I learn every day from the failures that occur. If there has ever been one lesson that has helped me in my life, no matter what aspect we’re talking about, is to never be afraid of failure. I learned more after failing than I have ever learned in success.
